The tourist information about Lanzarote we wanted to have before traveling there.

Casa Museo del Campesino

Casa Museo del Campesino is a César Manrique’s tribute to the men and women working in the volcanic fields trying to bring the land back to life.

In front of the museum stands 15 meters tall sculpture Monument of Fertility (Monumento à la Fecundidad) designed again by César Manrique (can be seen in the photo above).

The homes there look like the traditional homes with white walls and green wood. The combine the elements of the different places of the island. In the middle you can walk down the stairs which lead to the underground passage which leads to the restaurant which serves traditional Lanzarote dishes.

The entrance to the museum is free. But it is possible to attend several paid workshops such as pottery or making a traditional canarian sauce.
